Dear people all over the world,
I recently read the book called I’d Tell You I Love You, But Then I’d Have To Kill You. It was written by Ally Carter. There are many series of this book. I enjoyed this one so I’m probably going to read the others. I would rate this book a 7.5 out of 10. It wouldn't get a 10 because at some parts of this book it kind of just made me lose interest. But I kept reading and it got better. Also I wish it were more figuring out the mission yourself as your reading. Not, here’s the answer!
I think the main character related to me in some ways. She is a teenage girl kind of trying to find he self in a busy life. Also she uses her friends as a source. She is always using their advice and following through with it. Cameron, the main character, has a lot going on in her life. She is training at an all girl spy school, which she loves. Her mom is the headmistress so she gets to see her mom everyday. The other girls only get to see their parents once a month. The main character is also not only a spy, but trying to be a normal girl. She is doing a good job at it.
This book has somewhat of a mystery feel to it. I can’t decide if its mystery or not. It might be but I’m more leaning towards it not being. It doesn’t really give clues that you have to figure out. It’s more that the spy girls go on a mission and the author gives you the answer to the mystery.
I don’t get why the author just gives the answers. I would’ve liked it if I could figure them out on my own then later in the book find out if I was right. It would’ve given the book more suspense. It would’ve also made me want to not put the book down! While I was reading it was easy to put the book down and like go eat dinner or lunch or finish homework or something.
A quote that I found from the book is.. “Well, obviously I didn’t mean ‘the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth’ truth. More like Code Red truth-the abridged kind. Spy truth.
Yes, I go to Gallagher Academy.
Yes, I have been lying to you.
Yes, you can’t believe a single thing I’ve said or done.
But here’s the thing about spy truth: sometimes it isn’t enough to achieve your mission objectives. Sometimes you need more, and even though I didn’t want to do it, maybe it’s only fitting that a relationship that started with a lie would end with one.”
I chose this quote because I think it had a lot to be with the title of the book. It’s basically saying yes we started this relationship over a lie so maybe I don’t love you. Even though I act like I do. And this relationship is probably going to end over a lie also, I act like I love you but I don’t. So you think that but really I’m only going to kill you in the end.
I think I am going to read the sequel. Maybe it will be better with not giving away the answers. Still I really enjoyed this book, it was fun to read!
Sincerely,
Samantha Sch
