Dear friends,
I am reading the book Breaking Dawn. It is by Stephenie Meyer. It is the fourth book in the Twilight series. I would give this book an 8 out of 10. I like the whole plot of the book. It is not my favorite book out of the 4 books. I don’t like how they describe all the gross parts. I didn’t like all the blood. I like all the characters though. It was hard to go from thinking it was Jacob’s book, the back to Bella’s book. Overall I thought it was a very good book though.
One of the quotes I thought was very important was “What do I look like, the wizard of oz? You need a brain? You need a heart? Go ahead. Take mine. Take everything I have.” This was actually a name of a chapter. It was in Jacobs book. I thought this was a really good quote because it shows how Jacob feels toward Bella. He really loved her, but she doesn’t realize it. So he thinks his heart isn’t loved by Bella like he loves her. He feels pretty sad that she chose Edward, not him.
The genre of this book is definatly fantasy/fiction. I definatly know that vampires and werewolves aren’t real. Sure there are no talking animals in this book, but you can just tell that it could never happen. I also call it fiction, because not all of it is fantasy. Some of is a love story. Some is real life. When they talk about her school, and normal people, that kind of connects with why it would be fiction.
I wish that there were more books. I think that there is a rumor that Stephenie Meyer is coming out with a new one. It’s called Midnight Sun. I think it is Edward’s perspective of the first book. Then I think she’s coming out with a book, with Jacob’s perspective. I’m just not sure what the name of that one is. I am pretty sure that they will be good. Then I’m hoping that she will just continue the story.
I understood all of the characters to. At the back of the book, there is a vampire glossary. I looked back and went over all the vampire families and who was in them. It also showed who died in the family, like Victoria, and James. I think that all of them were different in there own way. Some of them think that they ruled everything, like the Volturi. Some thought that they were going to be vegetarians, which was hard to control. Some, all they thought about was human blood. I guess it all depended on what family you were in.
I didn’t understand why some of the vampires got really cool powers. Then some of them didn’t. Rosalie, only had the power of beauty. Emmett only had the power to be strong. Then, Alice could see only glimpses of the future. Edward could read minds of everyone except Bella. Bella had the power to block off all powers. Renesmee was only a baby, so she might have undiscovered powers. Esme didn’t have any powers. Carlisle only had the power to control his thirst. I think that all of the vampires should have gotten a real power.
I can honestly say, that I have never seen any books like these. I love this series, that I wish that there were more books like them. I liked the movies also. The movies left out a lot of parts though. I think that they always do, but in the movie TWILIGHT, they added a part not in the book. The scene where they were in the green house was not in the book. It could be though, its been such a long time, but I really think that they left that part out of the book! That’s a change. Something in the movie, but not in the book!
I think that there were many climaxes I the book. One big one was when she finds out that she’s pregnant with Renesmee. Another one was in Jacobs book. The part were the wolf pack plans to attack Bella. Then back to Bella’s book, when she has Renesmee. Also, when Bella turns into a vampire, and finds out her powers. There are many more, but I just took out a couple really important ones. I haven’t finished the book yet though. I am almost done with it though.
Id say the theme of this book can be many things, based on the person. It could be a love story. It also could be a vampire and werewolf book. It can be a conflict book also in parts. It could be an action book. It can be a very entertaining book also. Like I said, it all just depends on the type of person that it is coming from. Me personally, I think it is a love/vampire and werewolf book.
Sincerely, Emily Black
