Gathering blue

We are currently reading gathering blue by Lois lowry. It is the companion book to the giver. We have enjoyed the book so far, and recommend that you read it! Kira is newly an orphan and is handicapped. She faces many challenges along the way and has friends to help her deal with her new lifestyle. When she is given an important task in the community, she must put her special weaving skills to the test. When she discovers a magic scrap of fabric, it just makes her life that much harder to understand! It is a thrilling book with new twists each chapter. We are so excited to see how it all comes together in the third book, the messenger!
